Traditional networks usually operate on per-box basis. Human factor impact on this monolithic network is huge. Instead of focusing on business objectives operational team is burdened with UNIs, VLANs, BGP, ACLs, OSPF and so on and so forth. Complexity of network operations prevents network agility and flexibility. On the eve of digital era and even in the very beginning of it a network operator has no opportunity to provide "one click" on demand resorce allocation. Network scalability is limited because of vendor lock-in. Network visibility is restricted by box view which impacts proactive services' remediation. Finally a network operator has no opportunity to fullfil return of investments.
Nowadays there are a lot of buzzwords about network agility and flexibility. Sometimes this discussion can definitely grow into a bloody battle. Although even tier-1 vendors do not offer to consumers something better that proprietorially reworked versions of ODL or ONOS. Being a team of geaks we stepped aside of this bored run. We have an excellent knowledge, skills and experience in different areas - networking, math, hardware design and coding. We started to make something funny for digital network transformation. In our vision network agility is feasible by means of leveraging of artificial intelligence and machine learning over a fully programmable hardware infrastructure. To make a network digital era compliant we selected a state-of-the-art merchant silicon and a best-of-breed open source software.
